In der Nacht vom 24. auf den 25. Juli 1943 begannen die Großangriffe auf Hamburg. Im Beobachtungslogbuch der Sternwarte Bergedorf – Lage – findet sich an dem Tag folgende Eintragung:

abgebr. wegen Fliegeralarm
[später eingerahmt und in rot hinzugefügt: „1.“] Großangriff auf Hamburg
Nach dem Foto 6156K mit dem Lippert-Astrographen wurde die Beobachtung abgebrochen.
